New York: Man Attacks Four Nieces with Meat Cleaver; Shot by Police

On April 6, 2025, in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, 49-year-old Longqian Chen allegedly attacked his four nieces, aged 8 to 16, with a meat cleaver. One of the girls managed to call 911 while hiding. Responding officers encountered Chen, who refused to drop the weapon and advanced toward them, prompting police to shoot him. All four children were hospitalized with serious injuries but are expected to survive. ​
